Strengthened by Vulkan’s historical know-how in the field of power transmission, the damping of torsional vibrations of large on-board diesel propulsion systems and experience in the field of vibration control, since its foundation in 1987, Vulkan Italia has specialized in the design and implementation of solutions that guarantee the attenuation of vibrations and noise, thanks to the combined action of torsional joints, composite shafts and elastic support systems of rotating machines, ranging from the naval, commercial and military sectors up to yachting.

Focus on the core product or new technologies of the Company

The HD140 is the latest addition to the HD shock mount series: developed in accordance with shock regulation BV0230 of the German Navy, has already been selected for the suspension of diesel generators of important European military programs. The HD series has been designed for propulsion systems, diesel generators and, in general, is used in all those applications where a high level of isolation from low frequency vibrations is required. 

The HJX29 is the new HamiltonJet water jet model that belongs to the latest high-performance HJX series: among the features that distinguish it, a new hydrodynamic design of the inlet allows to generate an efficiency greater than 5% compared to the previous model, on an even more compact footprint.
 

Why is it important for your company to participate in Seafuture?

Vulkan has been operating in the military sector for decades, collaborating with the most important shipyards and equipment manufacturers in the sector. Vulkan’s engineering skills, as added value for the customer, are the aspects that we intend to highlight in this 2023 edition given the importance of maintaining the elastic systems on board, too often neglected. Joints and anti-vibration mounts must maintain their dynamic characteristics, so that they operate in accordance with the vibration/shock requirements of the boat: rubber ages naturally and this process is accelerated by many contributing factors. It is consolidated practice that joints and supports are forgotten or that their maintenance is ignored, not respecting their real end of life: the consequences are excessive stresses, sudden breakages and emergency service.

Seafuture has already proven to be a great, specific melting pot to engage with established Vulkan customers and develop new synergies with companies and operators in the sector.

Forte del know-how storico di Vulkan nell’ambito della trasmissione di potenza, dello smorzamento delle vibrazioni torsionali di grandi propulsioni diesel di bordo e dell’esperienza nell’ambito del controllo delle vibrazioni, dalla sua fondazione nel 1987, Vulkan Italia si è specializzata nella progettazione e nella realizzazione di soluzioni che garantiscono l’attenuazione delle vibrazioni e del rumore, grazie all’azione combinata di giunti torsionali, alberi in composito e sistemi di supportazione elastica delle macchine rotanti, spaziando nell’ambito navale, da quello commerciale, militare fino allo yachting.
 

Focus sul prodotto di punta o su nuove tecnologie dell’Azienda

L’HD140 è l’ultimo nato della serie dei supporti antishock HD: sviluppato in accordo al regolamento di shock BV0230 della Marina Tedesca, è già stato selezionato per la sospensione di generatori diesel di importanti programmi militari europei. La serie HD è stata progettata per sistemi propulsivi, generatori diesel e, in generale, viene impiegato in tutte quelle applicazioni dove è richiesto un elevato livello di isolamento dalle vibrazioni a bassa frequenza.
L’HJX29 è il nuovo modello di idrogetto HamiltonJet che appartiene all’ultima serie altamente performante HJX: tra le caratteristiche che lo contraddistinguono, un nuovo design idrodinamico dell’intake consente di generare un’efficienza maggiore del 5% rispetto al modello precedente, su un footprint ancora più compatto.
 

Perché per la vostra azienda è importante partecipare a Seafuture?

Vulkan opera nel settore militare da decenni, collaborando con i più importanti cantieri e costruttori di equipment nel settore. Le competenze di Vulkan a livello ingegneristico, come valore aggiunto per il cliente, sono gli aspetti che intendiamo evidenziare in questa edizione 2023 data l’importanza della manutenzione dei sistemi elastici a bordo, troppo spesso trascurati. Giunti e supporti antivibranti devono conservare le loro caratteristiche dinamiche, perché operino in accordo ai requisiti di vibrazione/shock dell’imbarcazione: la gomma invecchia naturalmente e questo processo è accelerato da molte concause. E’ prassi consolidata che giunti e supporti vengano dimenticati o che la loro manutenzione venga ignorata, non rispettandone il reale fine vita: le conseguenze sono eccessive sollecitazioni, rotture improvvise e service in emergenza.
 
Seafuture si è già dimostrata un ottimo, specifico crogiolo per confrontarsi con clienti Vulkan consolidati e sviluppare nuove sinergie con aziende e operatori del settore.
